1. After you have read the above, you are to answer the following questions in the first part of the paper. (1-2 pages)
How is US history often taught, according to Loewen?
2. For the second part of the paper: For each individual 4 of the 9 chapters you read, answer the following:
3. Lastly, you are to write what your own personal philosophy is as to how US history should be taught in this class (1 page). Do you believe Loewen makes valid points, or do you disagree with him? What is your personal opinion as to why US history is often taught with bias?

- Chapters 10-12 (pg. 254 -318)
- Then choose any four out of Chapters 1 - 9 .

- Why is history taught like this?
- What are the pros and cons of US history being taught selectively?
- What is your opinion of the subject? How might you think differently if your personal position was different?

- What are the main points of the chapter?
- What are some facts that have become new knowledge to you thanks to this chapter?
- Is this information surprising or alarming to you? Why/why not?
